TuFalas — Privacy Policy

TuFalas is an English-to-European Portuguese translator developed by Port City Creations. Your privacy matters. This policy explains what data the app handles and how.

Data Collection

No personal data is collected. TuFalas does not collect names, emails, or any personally identifiable information.

• No analytics or telemetry
• No advertising or ad tracking
• No account creation required
• No content logging on proxy servers
• No translation history shared with anyone

How the App Works

TuFalas stores your translation history, conversations, and settings locally on your device using an on-device database. The app sends your text to an AI provider for translation and analysis — which provider depends on your configuration.

AI Provider Communication

TuFalas offers two modes for connecting to AI translation services:

• Managed mode — Translation text is sent through a Cloudflare Worker proxy operated by Port City Creations, which forwards it to the AI provider. The proxy does not log, store, or inspect your text. A random device identifier (not personally identifiable) is used solely for usage counting with automatic 7-day expiry.
• BYOK (Bring Your Own Key) mode — Translation text is sent directly to your configured OpenRouter-compatible API. No Port City Creations infrastructure is involved.

In both modes, only the text needed for translation is sent. No metadata, device information, or usage patterns are included in these requests.

Offline Translation

When using offline mode, TuFalas uses Apple’s on-device Translation framework. Text is processed entirely on your device — nothing is sent over the network.

Data Storage

All data — translation history, conversation threads, and settings — is stored locally on your device. No data is synced to any cloud service.

Third-Party Services

TuFalas does not communicate with any third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking services. The only external communication is with the AI provider (via managed proxy or direct BYOK connection).

The AI provider’s handling of your data is governed by their respective privacy policies. In managed mode, the AI provider sees only the Port City Creations account, not individual users.

Children’s Privacy

TuFalas does not collect data from anyone, including children.

Changes to This Policy

If this policy is updated, the revised version will be posted at this URL with an updated effective date.
